Excursus: Print Queue Statuses in the SAP Cloud

n SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition: Several printing statuses cater to different stages of the printing process.

  • Pending:

This status indicates that a print job has been created but has not yet been processed by the Cloud Print Manager. It remains in the queue and is awaiting further processing.

  • In Process:

When the Cloud Print Manager actively works on a print job, it is flagged with the In Process status. This implies that the system executes the steps required to send the print job to the designated printer.

  • Completed:

This status confirms that a print job has been successfully processed and sent to the printer. It indicates that the document has been printed without any issues.

  • Error:

If there are issues with processing a print job, such as connectivity problems or incorrect printer configuration, the job is marked with an Error status. This requires troubleshooting to resolve the underlying issues before attempting to reprint.

  • Canceled:

When a print job is manually terminated before completion, it is given a Cancelled status. This can occur due to a user intervention or configuration change.

  • Retrying:

In cases where a print job encounters temporary issues, the Retrying status might be assigned. This indicates that the system is attempting to reprocess the print job automatically after a failure.
