  4. Select any desired properties to help define the Event (see the following Available Event Types section below).
  5. Click + ADD PROPERTY under the Event Properties section (optional—only available for click or input-type events).
  6. Click SAVE and you’re done.
Page View Definition

When creating a Page View Tracked Event there are 5 ways to identify the URL.

Take a look at how to set up each method for the URL.

  • Full URL: http://shopme.walkme.com/product/jumpsuit?id=1234#product-description Domain http://shopme.walkme.com
  • Path: /product/jumpsuit
  • Query: ?id=1234
  • Hash: #product-description

Create Tracked Events for WalkMe Elements too!

This is helpful to see how users move through a Funnel starting from a Launcher or ShoutOut.

Custom Event Definition

A Custom event can be any event that you chose to report to WalkMe, for example, it can be an event that is not available in the application and triggered by a back-end process through an API.

For more information of Custom Events see our support article: About WalkMe Custom Events.

Custom jQuery Selector Attributes

Watch the following video to learm more about adding custom jQuery selector attributes.

By default WalkMe Insights collects class, id, href, name, role, src, and type attributes to be used in jQuery Selectors for Tracked Events. However, you can add your own!

To add additional attributes for Insights jQuery Selectors click Settings, Environment Settings, and Collection Enablement.

From there, input your attributes, click Save, and publish to Production in the Editor for changes to go through.
