HCM S/4HANA and SuccessFactors - Hybrid Solution Possible

On-premise customers can manage their stable HCM core components such as payroll and personnel management themselves and at the same time use the latest talent management solutions from SAP SuccessFactors. Depending on the migration requirements, various SAP integration solutions are available. It is possible to switch off individual or all elements of talent management in HCM S/4HANA and use them entirely in SAP SuccessFactors. These elements are:
- Recruiting
- Onboarding
- Learning
- Succession & Development
- Performance & Goals
The basic data required for this from organizational management and personnel administration can remain in the on-premise world and be transferred to the cloud world via interfaces. A later migration to the cloud world as Position Management and People Profile is also possible for these two components.
On-premise time management is extremely extensive and flexible, which is why not all functions can currently be migrated to SAP SuccessFactors Time Off and Time Tracking. However, the payroll results can be transferred to the SAP SuccessFactors system, used there and displayed in Employee Central Payroll (ECP). In addition, payroll processes can be controlled and monitored in the cloud. However, technical payroll accounting will continue to be carried out in the on-premise world or by specialized SAP partners.
Integration Scenarios

Customers can set up following different integration scenarios:
- TALENT HYBRID
The Talent Hybrid scenario, customers are using the classical HR modules in the on-premise Enterprise System integrated with SAP Success Factors modules, such as Recruiting or Learning. Customers can use different interfaces, for example the HANA Cloud Platform (HCP).
- SIDE-BY-SIDE
Side-By-Side HCM allows organizations to use SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) as the central HR system for a specific group of employees while maintaining SAP ERP HCM for the other employees. This deployment offers a high level of flexibility, especially when adopting cloud technologies.
- CORE HYBRID
The Core Hybrid deployment option allows you to gradually move your core HR processes from on-premise to the cloud. This means that you move your HR processes such as personnel administration and organizational management processes to the cloud and integrate the HR data with SAP ERP on-premise processes such as payroll or time management.
- FULL CLOUD
When you use a comprehensive cloud solution, you benefit from minimal maintenance, regular updates, a user-friendly interface and flexible layout customization options.
