Assessing the Eligibility for the New Travel Policy Administration

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to outline the Travel Policy Administration in new Concur Travel.

Introducing the New Travel Policy Administration

SAP Concur is excited to announce the Phase 1 rollout of the Travel Policy Administration tool in new Concur Travel. This update introduces a modernized interface and enhanced functionality for managing travel rules across configurations. The focus is on improving usability, flexibility, and future scalability.

Eligibility for the New Travel Policy Administration in new Concur Travel

The new Travel Policy Administration feature is being rolled out in phases. Phase 1 prioritizes configurations where all rule classes within a travel configuration have enabled all verticals, excluding Rail, on new Concur Travel.

Phase 1 Exclusions

In Phase 1, customers who use the following features are not eligible and will be excluded from the new Travel Policy Administration upgrade:

  • Divisional view
  • Sponsored Guest User
  • Companion Travel
  • Guest Travel (non-Profiled)
  • Meetings
  • Clone Rules
  • Rail vendors in legacy Concur Travel

If the company's configuration utilizes any of the above features, access to the new Travel Policy Administration features will be unavailable until a later phase.

Note

For customers with multiple travel configurations, some rule classes may be migrated while others remain on the legacy experience.

Migration and Rollout Plans for Existing Customers

Eligible customers will experience a single migration of all selected rules from the legacy experience to the new experience. As a reminder, customers may see some rule classes migrated while others remain on the legacy experience if they have multiple travel configurations.

Following migration, all rules will be fully mapped to the new experience without any loss of functionality. However, it's crucial to understand that new rules created in the new experience will not be synchronized back to the legacy experience.

Hint

For example, imagine you create a new rule in the new Travel Policy Administration that restricts business class flights for employees below a certain level. This rule will not be reflected in the legacy experience.

In the unlikely event of a system rollback, any modifications made in the new Concur Travel will be lost. If a rollback becomes necessary, contact the support team immediately.

The rollout to the new Travel Policy Administration will be staged, beginning with Standard edition customers and progressing to Professional edition customers who meet the eligibility criteria.

Note

Review the monthly Concur Travel Release Notes for information on the rollout of the new Travel Policy Administration.
