The provisioning process follows a specific sequence:
- First, you must provision the SAP Business Data Cloud Core (SAP BDC Cockpit).
- Once the core is active, you can add individual applications such as SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SAP Databricks.
All provisioning tasks are managed through the SAP for Me portal.

Integrating Existing Tenants into SAP BDC
It is possible to include existing SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud tenants into a SAP BDC landscape. This is often referred to as 'rewiring'.
However, the term 'rewiring' is misleading because the steps to include your existing SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud tenants into a SAP BDC landscape mostly relate to changes to the commercial model (contract) and not to the technical landscape. In simple terms, you are bringing SAP Analytics Cloud and Datasphere into a consumption model where you allocate SAP BDC capacity units to these tenants according to your requirements.
Once the commercial adjustments have been made, there are minimal, non-disruptive, technical steps to carry out to bring your SAP Analytics Cloud and Datasphere tenants into the SAP BDC landscape. There is no migration required and no downtime necessary.
'Rewiring' simply means you are bringing your standalone SAP Analytics Cloud and Datasphere tenants into the lifecycle and consumption model of SAP BDC which is managed through SAP for Me self-service portal.
