The new Concur Travel solution was rolled out globally in 2024. We've worked to create a tool that is easy and intuitive to use. The new tool provides business travelers with a booking experience similar to what they are accustomed to when using consumer booking tools. The new platform allows us to continually introduce new features and functionality to benefit both travel managers and travelers.

Travelers often want flexibility and control over their own travel bookings, and book their business travel directly with suppliers. This can cause issues for travel managers and finance leaders as there is no visibility into this spend until it's submitted in the traveler's expense report. To solve this challenge, Concur TripLink helps customers manage travel across various booking channels by capturing itineraries and integrating them into their SAP Concur solution. The SAP Concur mobile app is a natural extension of the SAP Concur full-featured, web-based service. The mobile app is available to all Concur Expense customers. The solution allows employees to do the following: view travel details, add expenses to an expense report, create and submit expense reports, capture receipt images, and allows managers to approve expense reports. With an intuitive interface and quick adoption rate, our mobile app helps customers capture more data so they can get detailed, real-time insight into all their spend.

We recommend that all customers download the SAP Concur mobile app from wherever they download their apps. The SAP Concur mobile app is proven to boost adoption rates and reinforce travel and expense policy compliance.

ExpenseIt is a value-added service in the SAP Concur mobile and desktop app that turns receipts into expense line items and sends them directly to Concur Expense for the customer. It makes submitting receipts, creating expense reports, and getting reimbursed quicker and easier.

ExpenseIt allows a user to take a picture of a receipt at the time of the expense using an iOS or Android mobile device. It uses various techniques, including AI machine learning models, individual user history, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to read and identify critical values from a receipt. Using these techniques, ExpenseIt identifies the amount, currency, date, location, vendor, and hotel itemizations, even on handwritten receipts. ExpenseIt also predicts the expense type and payment type, and then creates an expense based on this information - all automatically. This means customers can spot out-of-policy spend faster, get a tighter reign on compliance, and better control their costs.

To predict most fields, ExpenseIt uses the Receipt Analysis Agent with traditional OCR technology to extract text from a receipt. It then uses these AI tools to analyze the text on the receipt, evaluate available contextual data, and make the best prediction possible. For example, let’s say there is a receipt that doesn’t list the address of the vendor. ExpenseIt’s Receipt Analysis Agent will evaluate available data such as the vendor name, expense type, your user’s Concur Travel trip data, and the transaction date. With this contextual data, the agents can find and add the missing location to the expense entry.

1. Reduces lost receipts and data entry errors. Receipts are digitalized on the go and users no longer need to track paper receipts.
2. Captures handwritten total amounts. ExpenseIt captures the total amount, even if it is handwritten.
3. Predicts payment type. ExpenseIt predicts the payment type, classifying the receipt as corporate card charge or cash.
4. Reads and itemizes common hotel receipt types. ExpenseIt uses learning models to determine fields such as room rate, taxes, and other billed items.
5. Easy to activate in the SAP Concur mobile app.
6. Supports e-mail forward functionality. Digital receipts can be e-mailed directly to designated SAP Concur e-mail addresses.

There is no extra cost for this feature and it's easy for admins to activate by policy.
