In the following dialogue, consultant Julia and inventory manager Finn introduce the concept of planned goods receipts, also referred to as goods receipts with reference.

Use the Post Goods Receipt for Production Order App
With the Post Goods Receipt for Production Order app, you can enter a goods receipt from production with reference to a production order. This app only allows you to reference one production order.
The handling of this app is comparable to the handling of the Post Goods Receipt for Purchasing Document app.
Use the Post Goods Movement App
With the Post Goods Movement app, you can post all types of goods movements and refer to several documents successively.

As illustrated in the preceding figure, the application interface is divided into the following main screen areas:
- Header Data
- Item Overview
- Item Details
- Overview Tree
In both the header and item detail sections, information is organized across individual tab pages for better clarity and navigation.
Header Data
The Header Data section contains information that applies to the entire material document, including:
- Document date and posting date
- Document header text
- Name of the person who created the document
- Entry date
From this section, you can also navigate to the associated accounting document.
Item Overview and Item Details
The Item Overview displays a list of all document items. Each item includes key details such as:
- Plant and storage location
- Movement type
- Reference document
- Account assignment
Clicking on an item number in the overview opens the Item Details section, which provides more in-depth information about the selected item.
Note
Once the item details are open, any changes to the item must be made in the Item Details section. Changes cannot be made from the Item Overview..
Overview Tree
The Overview Tree displays the last 10 documents you interacted with, including:
- Purchase orders
- Orders
- Reservations
- Material documents
- Held data
These entries are automatically added based on your recent activities, such as posting goods movements or creating material documents. This feature ensures you always have quick access to your most recent actions.
