Configuration of Revenue Growth Management Through Importing or Exporting Configuration Files

The Import-Export Tool

The RGM import-export tool enables IT admins to quickly get a snapshot of any configuration component (export) and create, modify and delete configuration (attributes) components through a config.xml update (import) without using the in-built application UIs.

One of the prerequisites before importing an configuration is to have XML files of configuration as expected by RGM.

Although this feature enables a quick turnaround of configuring the RGM app, the user experience is less user-friendly and more appropriate for tech-savvy users who are able to convert the business requirements into an XML configuration.

Advantages of the Import-Export Tool

  • Quick snapshot of any or all configuration components through the export feature
  • Ability to migrate or duplicate the configurations across multiple customer tenants
  • Ability to quickly configure a new tenant while onboarding a new customer
  • Ability to bulk update configuration attributes or components

Scenarios Required for the Use of the Tool

  • Customer is onboarding a new tenant and exports the configuration from a pre-existing tenant to import into the new tenant.
  • Customer tests a configuration scenario in their QA tenant and replicate the same to their production tenant once the test is complete/successful.
  • Customer wants to bulk update an attribute within a configuration.
Steps for importing/exporting configurations, selecting configuration types, viewing operation status, user details, and error info.
