Scenario

When you create objects, you can set the following parameters:
Cost Center Category (CCtr Category)
You define the cost center category with which cost centers are created during the generation process. If you want to use a new cost center category, you first have to define this category in the IMG activity Define Cost Center Categories.
Cost Center Group for Planned Objects (CC Grp for Plnd Objs)
You define the cost center group (CO cost center standard hierarchy area) with which the cost centers are created during the generation process. The cost center group must be an existing CO cost center standard hierarchy area.
Note
Recommendation: Using the standard transaction KSH1, you can create a hierarchy area called CC-PLANNED with the description Planned Cost Centers below the top node in the hierarchy being used.Profit Center Group for Planned Objects (PC Grp for Plnd Objs)
You define the profit center group (CO profit center standard hierarchy area) with which the profit centers are created during the generation process. The profit center group must be an existing CO profit center standard hierarchy area.
Note
Recommendation: Using the standard transaction KCH1, create a hierarchy area called PC-PLANNED with the description Planned Profit Centers below the top node in the hierarchy being used.

This figure provides you with a screenshot of the maintenance screen: Technical Settings for Master Data Generation. Further explanations:
- Workflow Module
- You define the function module that triggers the workflow for generating CO master data in the Structures Workbench.
- Simulation
The CO master data is generated in simulation mode (recommended). The user can decide on the basis of the simulation result whether CO master data is to be generated.
- Message Filter
Specifies that a message filter is used if error and warning messages are displayed after CO master data has been generated (recommended). The message filter can be updated using the maintenance view, /ISDFPS/VFDPSA07.
- Save Application Log
Specifies that a CO master data generation log (application log) is updated and saved in the database (recommended). The log can be displayed using the generation report transaction, /ISDFPS/ACCMDGEN.
- Time-Based Objects
Specifies that changes to cost centers and profit centers are time based. You can define time-based fields in the IMG activity Define Time-Based Fields for Cost Centers.
- Delete Obj. Rels (Relations)
Specifies that before the master data is generated, the relationships between the HR organizational object and the cost center or profit center are to be deleted.
- Max. Obj. Validity
Defines that account assignment objects (cost centers and profit centers) are to be created with a maximum object validity.
- Relationship Active
Specifies that the HR relationship to account assignment objects (cost centers and profit centers) is written in the "Active" (1) status if the status of the HR organizational objects is also "Active".
- Field Mapping Type
Specifies the way in which the system issues the names for cost centers and profit centers automatically.
- Field Assignment Type 1
The Name field in the master record of a cost center or a profit center is filled with the ID of the force element.
The Description field in the master record of a cost center and the Long Text field in the master record of a profit center are filled with the Name of the force element.
- Field Assignment Type 2
The Name field in the master record of a cost center or a profit center is filled with the name of the force element.
The Description field in the master record of a cost center and the Long Text field of a profit center are filled with the name of the force element.
If you do not select one of these assignment types, field assignment type 1 is used as the standard value.
Control Data

Force Elements have in their Info Type 1950 (HR-OrgManagement) information about the Country, Organizational Area, Structure type and Structure Level.
In a specific customizing table, it is possible to determine for which combination of the attributes from this Info type 1950 (Country, Organizational Area, Structure type, and Structure Level) will be used for the generation of Accounting Master Data or for the inheritance of the Accounting Master Data.
Settings are made for each object type. At least one entry must exist for each of the four object types (cost center, profit center, cost center group, and profit center group). Objects can be inherited across several structure levels. Object inheritance can be interrupted by object generation as often as required, and then continued on the basis of the generated object. The two methods (generation/inheritance) can be combined as often as required.
