Analyzing Medical Reports

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to use medical data and insights to drive analysis and create medical reports.

Medical Analysis and Reports

After documenting all medical incidents and health-related data, drawing clear conclusions is essential. Proper analysis and reporting allow for the identification of injury patterns and medical risks. Medical reports are particularly effective, as they provide a clear structure for evaluating collected data. These reports support informed decision-making regarding load management and the prevention of future injuries.

SAP solutions provide clear insights into player medical status and availability. You can easily monitor medical events across the entire team to determine if players are fit for training or matches. This comprehensive overview is also available as a story within the SAP Reference Content, as shown below.

Note

Of course, these analyses are not only available at the team level but also at the player level. This provides a valuable 360-degree view of the medical and fitness status of individual team members.

Beyond the custom analyses available in SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Sports One includes several built-in reports. To access these medical and health-related insights, navigate to your team and select General Information → Reports. This section provides a comprehensive view of medical and fitness data, such as absence reports, medications, fitness status, treatments, and training days.

We recommend reviewing all reports in detail, depending on the data view that is most relevant to you. For example, an absence report can provide comprehensive information on players, showing all events that occurred, including medical incidents, treatments, and any trainings or matches they missed.

However, reporting isn’t just for internal purposes - sometimes you also need to provide reporting to the federation, league, or other external parties. In Germany, for example, clubs are required to submit a NADA report. NADA stands for National Anti-Doping Agency, which is responsible for preventing and combating doping in sports. It sets anti-doping rules, conducts testing and monitors compliance to ensure fair competition. In SAP Sports One, you can generate this report by selecting NADA Report and clicking Generate NADA Report. Simply choose the date range, and the report will be downloaded automatically.

SAP provides comprehensive tools for analyzing and reporting on player availability and medical status. You can efficiently visualize and manage data ranging from team overviews to individual player insights, including internal tracking and external reporting requirements like NADA. These capabilities support informed decision-making, optimized load management, and proactive injury prevention for your entire team.
