After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain and use the SAP Sports One calendar

Introduction and Overview of the SAP Sports One Calendar

The calendar in SAP Sports One plays a central role in the efficient management of a sports club or team. It provides a clear platform where all important events, such as training sessions, matches, tournaments, appointments and many more, can be centrally recorded and planned. This structure ensures that all participants - from staff members to players - are always up to date, helping to avoid misunderstandings or scheduling conflicts.

Another advantage of the calendar is the easy management of resources. Training fields and personal equipment can be optimally planned and coordinated. Additionally, the calendar offers the ability to send automatic notifications and reminders, ensuring that all club members are informed in a timely manner of any changes to dates or upcoming events. The mobile availability through apps like SAP Team One also allows players and coaches to access the calendar on the go. Overall, the calendar in SAP Sports One significantly contributes to the organization, communication, and efficiency of daily operations within the club.

Note

To be able to manage the team calendar you need for example the role of administrator or team manager and the corresponding permissions for Persons/Teams. An overview of all SAP Sports One user roles and the corresponding permissions is available on the SAP Help Portal (User Roles | SAP Help Portal).

There are different options for navigating to various calendars. In the person profile, you can only view the calendar of the respective person. In the team profile, the calendar of the respective team is displayed, with the option to filter for the player calendars within your team. Lastly, the calendar that we will focus on in this lesson is the main calendar on the home screen of SAP Sports One. The main calendar displays the calendars of your entire club, and it allows you to filter for multiple teams, individual persons as well as resources.

To manage the calendar effectively in SAP Sports One, navigate to the home screen of SAP Sports One and navigate to Calendar. Additionally, you can manage the team calendar when you navigate to Calendar in the respective Team profile.

On the home screen, you can choose which calendar to display. You have the option to view the calendars of your teams within the club or the individual calendars of players and staff members. Additionally, you can filter the calendar by resources, such as bus availability or meeting room bookings.
