Product Change Management: Overview
Until now, changes to master data were transferred on the date they were made.
With Product Change Management, you can specify a future date to transfer data changes to Logistics. You can even schedule changes at the same time you create an object. You can also track your changes with object management records. If government regulations require detailed documentation, you can prove who created what, along with when and how they did so.
The following video explains how Product Change Management can be used to change Materials, Material BOMs, Routings, or other objects.
Product Change Management works with two change objects: Change Masters and Change Records.
The Change Master is used if you want to make object changes just after the creation of the Change Master.
The Change Record is used if several users or groups are involved and an approval process is needed before the changes are implemented. Change Records are often used in combination with process routes or workflows.
