Major and New Content in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, Warehouse Management
With the development of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Warehouse Management, several major improvements were made in the core solution over time to enable more flexible, configurable business processes.
New Fiori app "Manage Inbound Deliveries (WM)"
With the release 2608, the new SAP Fiori app Manage Inbound Deliveries (WM) is available as a successor to the SAP Fiori apps Change Inbound Deliveries and Change Inbound Deliveries - Production.
The app provides a modern user experience and extends the processing of inbound deliveries in warehouse management.
It enables you to to select inbound deliveries based on different filters and navigate to overview and detail data of deliveries. You can post or reverse goods receipts, create putaway warehouse tasks and trigger automatic packing. Alternatively, it is also possible to pack items manually. Batches and serial number can be maintained in the app as well.
It is also possible to create additional delivery items, insert attachments and use custom fields.
The app will be used in the exercises of this training when carrying out inbound activities in the warehouse.
Field extensibility for warehouse tasks
With this feature, available since release 2608, you're able to extend warehouse tasks with customer-specific fields. This enables you to store customer-specific information in the warehouse tasks created in your system.
Capacity profiles for wave management
This feature enhances wave management in the warehouse with capacity profiles to devine the maximum capacity for each wave:
- Maximum number of items
- Maximum weight
- Maximum volume
- Maximum capacity (dimensionless)
- Maximum number of waves to be created
These limits defined in the capacity profile are evaluated automatically during the wave creation in the background when using the Schedule Wave Creation app to schedule a wave creation job.
