The Car Search Options on the Travel Configuration page control how rental car searches and bookings work for travelers. To access Car Search Options, use CTRL+ F to locate the setting as shown in the following graphic.

These settings align car bookings with company policy and streamline the traveler experience.

Use the settings in the Car Search Options section to set allowed and default options, decide whether to allow automatic reservations, enforce payment rules, manage supplier handling, and define search behavior. To learn more, review the following labeled graphic and corresponding table.

The user can change this option in their profile; this setting simply sets the default. If a user already has a default set in their profile, this setting will not override it. |
| 5. Hide the Ski Rack option on the Profile page and in searches | Select to enable this setting if you do not want "Ski Rack" to appear as an option:

| 6. Require credit card for car reservations | When enabled, travelers can use a credit card other than the one stored in their profile to reserve cars. If you allow travelers to use a ghost card to reserve cars, you should select this option. Otherwise, Concur Travel will send credit card information only when selected by the vendor, which will likely require travelers to present a card when picking up the car. Note This is required for Hertz E-Receipts functionality. |
| 7. Don't send card information to Hertz | When enabled, this setting stops Concur Travel from sending credit card information to Hertz, which would otherwise happen as a requirement for Hertz e-receipts or if "Require card for car rental" was enabled. If the company uses direct billing with Hertz, you should enable this option and you will not receive e-receipts, but your central bill process will work smoothly. Note If your company uses direct bill with Hertz and you use e-receipts or require a card for reservations, you should enable this option. It will stop Concur Travel from sending credit card information to Hertz, which would otherwise happen as a requirement for Hertz e-receipts or if "Require card for car rental" was enabled. You will not receive Hertz e-receipts, but your central bill process will work smoothly. |
| 8. Allow Car Promos | Select to enable travelers to enter promo codes when searching for cars. Note This setting applies to Sabre only. |
| 9. Run a General Shop Request for Car Searches | The following options are available in the dropdown menu:
If enabled, the tool will search all car rental vendors when searching for cars, not just preferred cars (added in the discount area). If not enabled, the tool will only search for preferred cars (added in the discount area). If no preferred cars were added, no car results will be shown to the travelers. Note You can also use create a rule in Travel Policy to encourage users to book preferred vendors and flag them as out of policy if they select non-preferred. |
