Concur Travel’s hotel search locates accommodations near airports, addresses, company locations, or ZIP codes, with a customizable search radius. Administrators set a default radius and configure settings to include corporate hotels within a broader area, ensuring preferred options appear in search results.
To access the Hotel Search Options on the travel configuration page, use CTRL+ F to search for the setting, as depicted below.
Default Search Radius
This setting allows you to determine the default value for the Search within field in the Travel Wizard when searching for a hotel. The default search radius is set to 5 miles or kilometers (distance units can be set by users in their profile settings). When searching, Concur Travel uses a 5x5 grid, potentially including hotels slightly outside the 5-mile radius at the grid’s corners.
Search Radius for Corporate Hotels
This setting allows you to determine the default value to search for preferred hotel properties (added in the discount area). When selected, this radius will be used to search specifically for preferred vendors regardless of the search radius in the search criteria. In the following example, the Search radius for corporate hotels field is set to 30. So, if a traveler searches within a 5-mile radius, Concur Travel will display all hotels within 5 miles and any corporate hotels within 30 miles.
Hide these profile preferences and search options
Administrators can hide specific profile preferences and search options to customize the "Hotel Preferences" section on both the Profile page and the Travel Wizard’s search results.
Because some users can choose from several rule classes prior to booking and because those rule classes could be tied to different configurations, it's important to note the following:
- The default travel configuration controls which preferences appear on the Profile page
- The configuration used for booking determines which preferences appear during trip selection
