Working with Hotel Options

Introducing Hotel Connectors

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to manage Hotel Connectors on the Travel Configuration Page.

Introduction to Hotel Connectors

Hotel Direct Connect or API vendors are managed through Concur Travel’s Hotel Connectors feature. It allows administrators to add and manage connectors for hotel bookings within a company's travel system. Connectors are typically used when a customer has a contract with a vendor that provides access to its inventory and content.

To access Hotel Connectors on the travel configuration page, use CTRL+ F to search for the setting, as depicted in the following graphic.

General Settings - Use Detailed Passive Segment

This configuration option controls how the system processes passive segments in travel bookings. It is commonly used to add more data to passive hotel segments and improve back-office information.

Travel management systems use passive segments to record itinerary details—such as flights, car rentals, or hotel stays—that are not booked through the Global Distribution System (GDS) but are tracked for reference, reporting, or back-office purposes.

Checkbox labeled Use Detailed Passive Segment — unchecked.

Using the detailed passive segment setting in hotel connectors:

  • Select the checkbox to create passive segments with full itinerary details such as flight times, carrier information, segment status, and other relevant data
  • Deselect the checkbox to limit passive segments to basic information without itinerary details

Note

Each GDS uses its own format. For detailed hotel passive segment examples, please see:
