Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to manage Hotel Sorting Options on the Travel Configuration Page for new Concur Travel.

Introduction to Hotel Sorting Options

The Hotel Sort Default field allows administrators to choose the default sorting criteria for hotels based on multiple parameters.

Settings screen showing Hotel Sort Default dropdown highlighted and expanded, with Preference Rank selected and options: Preference Rank, Lowest Price, Star Rating, Distance, Default, Company Policy, Custom.

Review the following information to learn more about each default option.

Preference Rank
Displays hotels based on user-defined preferences (Most Preferred, Preferred, Less Preferred, Non-Preferred).
Lowest Price
Orders hotels by rate, with the lowest daily rates displayed first.
Star Rating
Orders hotels by their star rating, with the highest ratings first.
Distance
Orders hotels by their proximity to a specific location, with the nearest hotels first.
Company Policy
The "Company Policy" value for the Hotel Sort Default setting is not available in the new booking experience.
Custom
Allows for the definition of custom sorting criteria based on administrator preferences, by combining up to 3 sorting options.

Custom Hotel Sourcing (CHS) sorting

The CHS Provider-Controlled Sort feature allows hotel content suppliers to dictate the order of hotel search results and rates, enhancing the user experience by offering tailored search results. Through an agreement with SAP Concur solutions, the customer, and the CHS provider, the provider can control the sort order. You can change the sort to any other option in the dropdown during the booking process, but selecting the Default sort option restores the provider-controlled property sort.

The following image is an example of what the user sees during the booking process.

Summary

  • The Hotel Sort Default setting lets administrators choose how hotel search results are sorted by default.
  • Custom Hotel Sourcing (CHS) sorting allows a hotel content provider to control the default sort order through an agreement with SAP Concur, the customer, and the provider.
  • If users select Default during booking, the system restores the provider-controlled sort order when CHS is being used.
  • During booking, users can change the sort option manually.
