Setting Up the Adjustments Tab

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to set up the Adjustments tab.

Introduction

Add adjustments to existing budget items to apply budget changes. For example, not all spending comes through Concur Expense or Concur Invoice, but adjustments can account for these expenses. Use adjustments to track payroll, revenue, and other financial transactions.

As an administrator, you have two options to add adjustments:

  • Manually
  • Using the Budget Adjustment Import

Also, budget owners can make budget adjustments directly in the Budget Dashboards.

How to Add Adjustments (Manually)

Follow these steps to manually adjust a budget. We'll walk you through each part of the process, complete with detailed instructions and screenshots to help you along the way.

Steps

  1. On the Budget Items tab, select an existing budget item. Choose Modify. The Modify Budget Item window appears.

  2. Select the Adjustments tab.

  3. Select New.

  4. Complete all fields:

    • Type - Budget Balance, Fund Transfer, Expense, Invoice, Purchase Request, Request
    • Amount Type - Budget Amount, Spend Amount, Pending Amount
    • Description
    • Amount
    • Budget Period
    • Transaction Date

  5. Choose Save to apply these changes.

Result

How to Add Adjustments (Import)

Follow these steps to adjust a budget using the import option. We'll walk you through each part of the process, complete with detailed instructions and screenshots to help you along the way.

Steps

  1. On the Budget Items tab, select the More dropdown menu. Choose Adjustments Import and Export.

  2. Download the Budget Adjustment Import template or select Send Adjustments to Excel for an existing budget adjustment.

  3. Populate and save the budget adjustment import file.

  4. Browse and select the completed and saved file. Choose Import to upload the file.

  5. Select the row with the transaction import and choose View Import Details under the Actions button to review the results.
