Strategic plans are developed to address industry-specific requirements for up to two end-to-end processes.

Second, a Governance Framework for Fit-to-Standard is established through a governance maturity assessment, utilizing a Solution Standardization Board (SSB) to evaluate and enhance current governance practices. This includes SSB governance sessions and workshops that educate customers on maintaining a clean core based on key design principles.

Third, AI Use Cases are explored by introducing customers to AI capabilities and tools like Joule, followed by prioritizing AI use cases to align with business goals through demonstration and deployment.

Fourth, the SAP Build Use Cases guide customers in how to use SAP Build tools for application development and integration, with activation of pre-built use cases for seamless integration and faster benefit realization.

Last, SAP BTM Use Cases are activated by integrating tools like SAP Signavio, SAP LeanIX, and SAP Cloud ALM for comprehensive process analysis and management, leveraging best practices to enhance customer operations facilitating a seamless, well-governed transition from pre-sales to post-sales, equipping businesses with the insights, governance frameworks, and technological tools necessary for successful digital transformation.

    • Scope includes up to one end-to-end process for any one industry. 
  2. Integrated Toolchain Activation SAP BTM Use Cases
    • SAP Signavio, SAP LeanIX, and SAP Cloud ALM are introduced. 
    • The toolchain is activated.
    • Workspace is populated with best practice content using SAP Signavio Process Manager. 
    • Process Insights are integrated with data from one back-end SAP system. 
    • Integrated use cases are demonstrated.
    • Scope includes one end-to-end process analysis (process insight, process management, integration to SAP Signavio, SAP Cloud ALM, and SAP LeanIX).
  3. Governance Framework for Fit-to-Standard
    • Governance maturity assessment is conducted using the Solution Standardization Board (SSB) questionnaire.
    • A session on good SSB governance, including key design principles and clean core, is held.
    • A session on best practices and accelerators related to SSB governance for the Fit-to-Standard approach is conducted.
    • A workshop is conducted to understand existing governance framework and readiness.
    • Business process and system walk-throughs occur twice with a Fit-to-Standard approach.
    • SSB governance maturity is assessed, and recommendations for best practices, standard contents, and next steps are provided.
  4. AI Use Cases (Business Process)
    • SAP Business AI, Joule, and AI capabilities are introduced.
    • AI use cases are demonstrated.
    • AI use case priority is determined based on customer’s future situation, and an AI road map is developed.
    • Joule is activated.
    • Scope includes a demo of up to five AI scenarios, Joule activation via setup service, and one AI use case activation.
  5. SAP Build Use Cases
    • SAP Build Apps, SAP Build Process Automation, SAP Build Work Zone, and SAP Build Code are introduced.
    • Accelerators and best practice guides are provided.
    • Use cases are demonstrated.
    • Use case discovery and prioritization are conducted.
    • Activation of up to two pre-built SAP Build use cases occurs.
    • Scope includes activation of up to two pre-built SAP Build use cases in the customer development environment, based on fulfillment of prerequisites.

Activity 1: Initial Alignment (2-hour remote session)

This session serves as the kick off session to align our efforts by setting a solid foundation for subsequent activities.

  • Scope Confirmation: The precise scope of the Transformation Preparation Service (TPS) is defined by focusing on specific industry needs and end-to-end processes, thereby identifying key areas for transformation. This ensures a targeted approach that maximizes impact and delivers tangible improvements within the selected end-to-end scope. 
  • Toolchain, Build & AI Confirmation: The tools and methodologies designated for the transformation project, encompassing build tools and AI capabilities, are validated. This process confirms the technology stack and guarantees that the customer and the partner understood and agreed on the strategic technological framework to be adopted. 

Activity 2: In-Depth Workshop (3-day workshop, preferably onsite)

This intensive workshop is designed to delve deeply into the technical and strategic components of the transformation process, with distinct outcomes planned for each day: 

  • Day 1 | Overall Architecture Focus: A thorough review of the overarching system architecture is conducted, applying an industry-specific lens to establish a baseline for clean core implementation. Customers are introduced to Business Transformation Management (BTM) concepts, setting the stage for transformative processes and clarifying how these concepts underpin a successful transformation. 
  • Day 2 | Best Practice Walkthrough and Analysis: An extensive walkthrough of best practices applied to a specific end-to-end process tailored to the customer's business needs is engaged in. Throughout this process, insights derived from Plug & Gain (P&G) are analyzed, enabling identification of areas for improvement and innovation. Furthermore, AI use cases that can enhance the selected business process are collaboratively identified, fostering innovative solutions and expanding strategic capabilities. 
  • Day 3 | RISE with SAP Governance: Governance strategies within the context of RISE with SAP are explored, focusing on aligning transformation efforts with overall goals. Through strategic discussions, the target architecture is delineated and a transition approach from the current SAP Business Suite to the envisioned future state is outlined, providing a roadmap for a seamless transformation process. 

Activity 3: Workshop Wrap-up and Handover (2-hour remote session)

This concluding session consolidates all findings and sets the stage for implementation efforts. 

  • Presentation of Findings: A comprehensive presentation of insights gained throughout the workshop is delivered, capturing identified opportunities, risks, and strategic recommendations. This presentation serves as a detailed recap of workshop activities and outlines clear action steps moving forward. 
  • Handover of Governance Playbook:  The customer is presented with a meticulously prepared governance playbook, offering essential guidelines and frameworks designed to uphold governance practices post-transformation and ensure continual improvement. 
  • Handover of Integrated Toolchain: The customer is equipped with the fully integrated toolchain employed throughout the transformation process, providing them with necessary technological tools and frameworks to sustain and further develop digital transformation efforts, ensuring long-term success and adaptability.

  • How are activities triggered? In the mid-term, the Transformation Preparation Services Architect is triggered based on a report. In the long term, it will be triggered when the SKU is signed.
  • Where are activities tracked? The Transformation Preparation Services Architect tracks completion of activities in the workflow app.
