Before we get started, here is an example of the General Journal Entry Excel file, using 80 as the amount, which was configured in the Preparation lesson.

In the Search field type in Balance Sheet and select the Search icon, then click on Balance Sheet/Income Statement to open the application.

In the Company Code field, enter 1710 and select 1710 (BestRun US) when it appears.

In the Statement Version field, enter FPA1 and select it when it appears.

Leave the Statement Type field as Normal (Actual - Actual).
Enter 12 2024 as the End Period.

Click Go.
You will see the content has been generated below in the All Accounts tab.

Click on the Profit & Loss tab then click on the “Expand All” arrow.

Scroll down to Operating Expense > Employee Expense > Office Expense > Office Supplies then click on the Period Balance for this item. In the pop-up menu that appears, click on Display Line Items in General Ledger.


At the top of the screen, click on the Search icon and type Upload General Journal Entries to open up the application.

Click Browse.

Search for the Excel file that you updated in the earlier exercise: JE_Office_Supplies and select Open.
Once the file has been uploaded, click on its temporary ID in the table (for example: UPLD_ 2025-01-17 16:07:02(1138200)_001) then click the ID again in the pop-up menu that appears.

There are two Line Items shown. Expand the dropdown arrow for the first item.

Click on the menu icon for the Tax Jurisdiction field.

Click on Tax Jur.: CA00000000 Description: California and press return key.

Scroll back up and click on the minimize arrow to minimize this Line Item.

In the bottom-right corner, click Post.

You will get a confirmation message saying the document was posted successfully. Click Display.

You should be brought to the Display Line Items in General Ledger App. If not, search for it like you did previously in the main banner at the top of the screen.

Ensure that the fields reflect the following filters:


Scroll down to find your line item Journal Entry.

Go back to your SAC Story and click Overview NOTE: It may take some time for the data to replicate. Please wait some moments.

Drill down into Operating Income > Operating Expense > Employee Expense > Office Expense > Office Supplies and select Jan 2024 for Actual.

Perform a data refresh from the S/4 system by clicking the Import Action Data from S/4 (Local Currency button).

You will see the data changes implemented once the table refreshes.

Congratulations you have uploaded a journal based on a pre-downloaded template, then refreshed the data in SAC to show the integration between SAC and S/4HANA.
