Discussing Application Configuration

In the step Integration and Configuration Options additional integration and configuration options are discussed to help you take advantage of the full set of capabilities of SAP Cloud ALM.

Application Configuration

For several apps in SAP Cloud ALM, additional setup steps are required or possible. The next slide introduces the main application lifecycle management processes:

Diagram of SAP Cloud ALM highlighting three work areas and their lifecycles. The center shows the Cloud ALM home with tabs Implementation, Transformation, Operations, and Service. Top row: Implementation – Design, Build, Test, Deploy (Adopt the Latest Innovations). Bottom left: Operations – Detect, Analyze, Correct, Automate (Keep Your Business Running). Bottom right: Service – Prepare, Deliver, Share, Follow-up (Optimize with SAP Services). Left side on the top notes the Onboarding Step: Integration and Configuration Options.

We will focus on the Applications and Lifecycles:

  • SAP Cloud ALM for Implementation (Design-to-Deploy lifecycle: Design, Build, Test, Deploy): For the central platform to accelerate your complete implementation with predefined process and task content. Several integration options are available to extend the functionalities of SAP Cloud ALM for implementation.
  • SAP Cloud ALM for Operations (Detect-to-Correct lifecycle: Detect, Analyze, Correct, and Automate): Ensure business continuity through full-stack monitoring, support, and proactive alerts, increase efficiency via automation and collaboration, predict anomalies, and optimize your SAP business solutions. The main aspects are Data Collection from managed services and systems, and Personalization and Configuration.
  • SAP Cloud ALM for Service (Prepare-to-Follow-up lifecycle: Prepare, Deliver, Share, and Follow-up).: Collaboration between SAP and the customer for service delivery requires transferring data into the customer's SAP Cloud ALM tenant. This data transfer is automatically activated, and you can request to deactivate it. In a digitalized format, service delivery outcomes become faster, simpler to consume, and easy to track.

For didactic reasons, we will start with the SAP Cloud ALM for Service.
