In the Realize phase, your team members bring your design to life by configuring the solution based on your specifications, performing data collection, creating test scripts, testing and validating the solution, and creating communication plans and related materials.
Your Functional Lead implements or guides your team members to implement the sourcing event templates and project templates with phases, tasks, and documents. Your partner may also assist in collecting the required data and library content, creating communication plans, and creating training materials.
Your Functional Lead should be an experienced and certified implementation partner who extends the solution through:
- System parameters and feature toggles
- Configuring fields and flexible master data objects and enumerations
If applicable, your Technical Lead will be responsible for integration with SAP S/4HANA and third-party solutions.
Your SAP Deployment Lead may assist you in configuring any non-self-service parameters or features that may be required.
Once everything is ready, the solution is tested and validated by the customer. During the Realize phase, your SAP Deployment Lead can assist your Technical Lead in resolving any issues that arise.
The Realize phase is complete once user acceptance testing is complete and signed off.
Considerations
It is important to consider the deployment scenario during the Realize phase when configuring the solutions.
For a Greenfield customer deploying several SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite solutions, the project might require a staged deployment to production where solutions are migrated to production at different times. In this case, in the Deploy phase, the first migration to production may follow the Greenfield deployment scenario, and subsequent migrations may be Bluefield deployment scenarios.
The initial migration to production following the Greenfield deployment scenario will migrate the full Test site configuration to the Production site. If there are configurations intended for solutions planned for later deployment, those configurations should be disabled before initial migration commences. Subsequent deployments will be Bluefield deployments.
For a Bluefield customer deploying one or many SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite solutions, every migration to production will follow the Bluefield deployment scenario.
