The Analyze ESG Data application provides a centralized place to monitor and analyze ESG performance data, including actual and target values for metrics as well as underlying measure data. It is accessed from the "Analytics and Steering" section and allows users to organize, visualize, and explore ESG data through configurable dashboards and analytical views.

The application is structured into two main tabs: Overview and Analytics, each serving a different purpose.
Overview Tab – High-Level ESG Monitoring
The Overview tab presents ESG metrics as tiles containing a KPI value and a chart that compares actual versus target performance. This tab is designed for quick monitoring of key ESG indicators.

Before metrics appear, two configurations must be defined:
1. Overview Page Filters
- Users first select reporting periods and reporting structures (for example, Business Location) to determine which dataset is displayed.
- These filter settings can be saved as personal "Views" so that users do not need to reapply the same filters each time they open the app. Views are stored under "My Views" and only affect the period and reporting structure filters, not the metrics displayed.
2. Manage Overviews
- The Manage Overviews function determines which metrics are shown on the overview page and how they are organized.
- Users can:
- Create metric groups (for example Environmental, Social, Governance, or Economic KPIs) and add quantitative metrics to each group.
- Arrange the order of metrics, which determines how tiles appear on the dashboard.
- Overviews can be configured as:
- Private – visible only to the creator.
- Public – available to all users in the system. Typically, system administrators prepare public overviews to provide standardized dashboards for the organization.
Once the filters and overview configuration are set, the overview page displays metric tiles with charts showing the available actual and target data that the user is authorized to view.
Analytics Tab – Detailed ESG Analysis
The Analytics tab enables deeper, ad-hoc analysis of ESG data at metric or measure level. Users can display up to three charts simultaneously, each showing different data or perspectives.
Users configure charts through View Settings, where they can:
- Select a metric or measure to analyze.
- Choose chart dimensions (such as category or series views).
- Apply filters for periods, reporting structures, and drill-down dimensions.
- Display results as charts or tables.

The analytics view allows users to:
- Compare values across multiple reporting periods or organizational units.
- Analyze metric drill-downs if the metric is configured with additional dimensions.
- Examine the underlying measure data that contributes to a metric.

Users can save these setups as Analytics Configurations, which store the selected dimensions and filters. These configurations can be:
- Private, for personal use.
- Public, so teams can access standardized analytical views.
