Adding Supplier Data in Different Deployment Scenarios

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe the process of adding supplier data in various deployment scenarios.

Supplier Data in Different Deployment Scenarios

Scenario 1:

SAP Ariba Supplier Risk as a standalone solution

  • Add new suppliers using the data import tasks in SM Administration.

Scenario 2:

SAP Ariba Supplier Risk with SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance

  • Add new suppliers using the data import tasks in SM Administration.
    • Because both solutions use the same supplier database, you only need to import supplier-related data once for both solutions.

Adding SAP Ariba Supplier Risk to SAP Ariba Procurement solutions, SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing solutions, or SAP Ariba Supplier Information and Performance Management (classic architecture)

The process flow of SAP Ariba Supplier Risk to SAP Ariba Procurement solutions, SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing solutions, or SAP Ariba Supplier Information and Performance Management is displayed.
  1. For the initial load of suppliers into SAP Ariba Supplier Risk, manually migrate supplier data to the unified vendor model. Do not add new suppliers using the Suppliers data import task in SM Administration. If the suppliers already exist in your SAP Ariba landscape, adding them to the unified vendor model through the Suppliers data import in SM Administration causes data problems.
  2. After migration, request that SAP Ariba enable the vendor and vendor contact push scheduled tasks (SM-2900) so that as you add and update suppliers in the SAP Ariba solution that serves as the source of truth for your SAP Ariba supplier data, those changes are automatically pushed to the unified vendor model and are available in SAP Ariba Supplier Risk.

This diagram illustrates the flow of supplier data in this scenario.
