Activating SAP Fiori Apps by SAP Fiori Catalogs

Objective

Task List SAP_FIORI_FCM_CATALOG_ACTIVATION

The purpose of task list SAP_FIORI_FCM_CATALOG_ACTIVATION is the activation of all SAP Fiori apps (including SAP Gateway services and ICF nodes) based on selected SAP Fiori catalogs.

Caution

Apply the latest version of SAP Notes 3349671 and 3339909 before executing task list SAP_FIORI_FCM_CATALOG_ACTIVATION.

Hint

You can also prepare a run of task list SAP_FIORI_FCM_CATALOG_ACTIVATION from the SAP Fiori launchpad content manager: select one or multiple catalogs and choose Services→Activate Services (STC02).

The (optional) task with description Enter list of Catalog IDs to be activated (optional) allows you to upload a list of catalog IDs, either by pasting it from the clipboard, or by uploading a text file. This task checks if the provided catalog IDs are available in the current system.

Use task Confirm/Select Catalog IDs for FLP content activation to confirm and/or select the IDs of the catalogs whose content shall be activated.

Activate SAP Fiori Apps by SAP Fiori Catalogs using Task List SAP_FIORI_FCM_CATALOG_ACTIVATION

Task 1: Activate Services of a Catalog using Task List SAP_FIORI_FCM_CATALOG_ACTIVATION

Steps

  1. Analyze the content of catalog SAP_BASIS_BC_TMC.

    Note

    Use the client-specific version of the SAP Fiori launchpad content manager.

    1. Log on to your SAP system using the train-## user.

    2. Enter transaction /UI2/FLPCM_CUST.

    3. Ensure that the Catalogs tab is selected.

    4. Search for catalog SAP_BASIS_BC_TMC, for example using the Search Catalogs field.

    5. Select the SAP_BASIS_BC_TMC catalog.

    6. Note the objects listed at the bottom (area Content in Catalog...).

  2. From the SAP Fiori launchpad content manager, launch the ABAP Task Manager and activate the services relevant for catalog SAP_BASIS_BC_TMC in dialog mode.

    1. Continue working in the SAP Fiori launchpad content manager with catalog SAP_BASIS_BC_TMC being selected.

    2. Choose Services→Activate Services (STC02) (at the top-right of area Catalogs).

    3. Note that a new SAP GUI window with a prepared task list run for task list SAP_FIORI_FCM_CATALOG_ACTIVATION opens.

    4. Choose the Display Parameters icon for the task with the description Enter list of Catalog IDs to be activated (optional). Confirm that the catalog with ID SAP_BASIS_BC_TMC shows up. When done, choose Continue (Enter) to close the popup.

    5. Choose Start/Resume Task List Run in Dialog (F8).

    6. After the execution of the task list, select the Show Task Log icon for the tasks with the following descriptions:

      • Determine OData/ICF Services for Catalogs
      • Activate OData Services (/IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE)
      • Publish Service Groups (/IWFND/V4_ADMIN)
      • Activate ICF Services (SICF)

      In addition, note the respective log entries (at the bottom).

    7. When done, choose Back (F3) to return to the SAP Fiori launchpad content manager.

Task 2: Assign Catalog

Steps

  1. Assign catalog SAP_BASIS_BC_TMC to your role Z_##_BR_UX200.

    Note

    Use the client-specific version of the SAP Fiori launchpad content manager.

    1. Continue working in the SAP Fiori launchpad content manager (transaction /UI2/FLPCM_CUST) with catalog SAP_BASIS_BC_TMC being selected.

    2. Choose Show Usage in Roles (at the top-right of area Catalogs).

    3. Choose Assign Role (from the icon bar of area Roles containing Catalog...).

    4. In the Assign Role to Catalog popup, select (or enter) your role Z_##_BR_UX200. When done, choose Continue (Enter).

Task 3: Test Apps

Steps

  1. In your My Home, add some tiles from catalog SAP_BASIS_BC_TMC to your favorite apps and test the apps.

    1. Start or reload the SAP Fiori launchpad of your SAP system in a client of your choice.

    2. In your My Home, navigate to the Apps→Favorites section.

    3. Choose Add Apps.

    4. In the App Finder, select catalog Technical Monitoring - Analysis (at the left).

    5. Click Add to Page "My Home" (the + sign) for one or multiple tiles.

    6. Choose Navigate to Home (the SAP logo in the upper left).

    7. Use the app as you see fit.
