Resource-Related Cost Subitems in Service Orders
Note
Note

Depending on whether an RRCO subitem is statistical or not, the RRCO subitem can contribute to the net value of the service order.
If an RRCO subitem is configured with a non-statistical item category, then this RRCO subitem is also part of the planned revenue calculation.
When the revenue recognition method used is cost-based POC, then RRCO subitems can contribute to the planned revenue calculation. They then also have an impact on event-based revenue recognition (EBRR) and the recognized revenue calculation.
RRCO subitems provide an alternate way of calculating cost condition PCO4; the other way is to use the Update Calculated Cost button in the Price Details assignment block. This button/option fetches the costs directly from the billable maintenance order without DIP processing. These two options are mutually exclusive.
Different Profit Centers in Execution Order Item and Billable Maintenance Order

Before release 2025 FPS1, the system enforced the rule that the profit center on execution order item level and billable maintenance order level needed to be the same. Since release 2025 FPS1, it is possible to have different profit centers on execution order item level and corresponding billable maintenance order level. This allows more flexibility with respect to the financial setup of the system: this means all cost postings are recorded with the profit center on the maintenance order.
The prerequisite for this to work, is to specify this in the field Profit Center in Maint. Ord. in Customizing in the definition of the item category.
If you choose the option Independent of Execution Order Item, the profit center field in a billable maintenance order is editable. The profit center can then be determined independently (with respect to the execution order item) and the profit center from the execution order item is never transferred to the billable maintenance order.
Summary
Release 2025 FPS1 supports RRCO subitems in service orders. There are two ways to achieve this:
- Based on the Customizing settings for copying control
- The RRCO subitems can be generated using the Refresh Planning button in a service order.
- Depending on whether an RRCO subitem is statistical or not, the RRCO subitem can contribute to the net value of the service order.
