Introduction
Release 2025 FPS0 of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition introduced new functionality in the area of warranty management and warranty determination in Service Management:
- Consider Expired Warranty
- Consider Date Based Warranty
- Allow the user to change the system decision on warranty
Improved Warranty Determination
New warranty-related fields are available on service transaction header and item level. There is now a warranty assignment block available on header and item level.
In Customizing, you maintain a profile for a warranty check. Use the following menu path in Customizing: Service→Transactions→Settings for Service Transactions→Define Profile for Warranty Check.

The flag Consider Expired Warranty (in the profile for warranty checks) controls the activation of the expired warranty functionality. This functionality allows the warranty ID field to be filled even for cases where the warranty has expired. This functionality keeps the Under Warranty flag (in the service order item) false by default.

Release 2025 introduced new warranty fields in the service transaction user interface to provide detailed information about warranty to the user.
On header level:
- Warranty Status
- Warranty ID
- Warranty End Date
- Warranty Assignment Block
On item level:
- Under Warranty flag
- Warranty ID
- Warranty End Date
- Warranty Assignment Block
Other warranty-related functionality in release 2025 is:
- Consider Date Based Warranty
- Allow the user to change the system decision on warranty
You can use an equipment with a date-based warranty. And a user can change the system decision on warranty if needed.
