New Features of the SAP Fiori Launchpad in Release 2025

Screenshot of the enterprise search function in the SAP Fiori launchpad and the fact that you can search for service requests, service contracts, service quotations, service order, and service confirmations. Below it some drawings of documents and next to it a photo of a working man with a document in his hand.

The SAP Fiori launchpad search, also known as the Enterprise Search, is a function in the SAP Fiori launchpad that enables users to find apps as well as central business objects (such as materials, customers, or maintenance plans) using a single search bar. It is accessible via a search icon in the shell bar of the launchpad and provides a one-stop shop for information search.

Starting with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition 2025, you can search for long texts in the Notes assignment block at header level of the following service transactions:

  • Service request
  • Service contract
  • Service quotation
  • Service order
  • Service confirmation

In general, it is possible to search over all or over individual enterprise models. On the slide, you can see the results of a search done over all models/types of service documents.

Screenshot of the search results of a search done over a single type of service documents. The type Service Orders is used and highlighted.

A search over a single service transaction model/type of service document returns results only for this type of service transaction.

Screenshot of a service order using facets with a structured display of relevant key fields on header and item level. Above the screenshot, the structure of the header facet is presented in a table: column 1 containing partner information, column 2 containing details, column 3 containing GTS information, column 4 containing status information, and column 5 containing pricing information.

Since release 2025, service transactions (such as service orders, service quotations, and service confirmations) use facets with a structured display of relevant key fields on header and item level in a harmonized manner. Using facets allows you to quickly view important data without navigating through the full object details.

The fields used on the facets are a proposal and can be adapted by customers. Standard or custom fields or graphs can be added or removed. A column cannot have more than 5 fields.

The facets of the overview pages of the relevant service transactions include details of the following item types:

Service QuotationService ProductExpenseService PartExecution Order Item
 Sales ItemTool item
Service OrderService ProductExpenseService PartExecution Order Item
 Sales ItemTool Item
Service ConfirmationService ProductExpenseService PartTool Item

For a consistent experience, patterns were introduced to ensure the screen layout remains consistent across different service transactions and item types. At header level, the pattern is based on the structure shown in the slide above.

Above the screenshot, the structure of the item facet is presented in a table: column 1 containing detailed information consisting of partners and three fields used in all items, column 2 containing item process specific information, column 3 containing GTS information, column 4 containing status information, and column 5 containing pricing information.

At item level, the pattern is based on the structure shown in the slide above.

In the SAP standard delivery, a facet is displayed in display mode, even if it can technically be presented partially in edit mode and partially in display mode. By default, a facet hides when you scroll down to display additional assignment blocks.

If needed, you can pin a facet to keep it visible. You do this by clicking the pin icon.

Screenshots of the header and also of a service expense item of a service confirmation. For the service confirmation service expense item, the field Serv. Rendered Date is highlighted.

Service confirmations do not contain GTS information. Therefore, this column is missing in the pattern. If there are more than five relevant fields and not all columns are used, the extra fields will appear in the next column (without a group title), as can be seen in the expense item on the slide above.

More information about facets can be found in the Web Client UI online documentation for Overview Pages with Fiori Layout.
