At SAP Sapphire 2026, SAP announced seven Migration and Modernization Assistants as part of the agent-led toolchain. All seven run on SAP Cloud ALM as the operational foundation. An "Assistant" means multiple AI skills and multiple agents working together on a specific transformation challenge.
- System Analysis Assistant - Scans the customer's existing SAP landscape - data, customizations, custom code - and builds the data foundation for all other assistants.
- Data Management Assistant - Monitors, corrects, and governs data quality; identifies inconsistencies, performs root cause analysis, and proposes and implements fixes.
- Custom Code Assistant - Ensures SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) custom code runs in SAP S/4HANA; semantically analyzes extensions, recommends clean core paths, generates technical specifications.
- Configuration Assistant - Pre-configures SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition using SAP's Enterprise Knowledge Graph, best practice models, and customer requirements.
- Test Management Assistant - Scopes testing, generates AI test cases from SAP Signavio process models and requirements, and hands off to Tricentis for automated execution.
- Rollout Assistant - For global template rollouts: compares the SAP template against local market processes and recommends whether to adapt the template or localize.
- Project Management Assistant - Provides real-time, fact-based project status, delegates tasks by persona, and identifies risks proactively.

Coming Soon: Toolchain Alignment Agent
In addition to the seven Migration and Modernization Assistants, SAP is developing agents for the Business Transformation motion. The Toolchain Alignment Agent connects process knowledge (SAP Signavio), enterprise architecture knowledge (SAP LeanIX), and implementation knowledge (SAP Cloud ALM) to proactively surface misalignments and recommend corrective actions.
Currently in production testing with select customers. Planned to be available soon.
