Exploring AI-Assisted Capabilities in the Detailed 360 Report

AI capabilities available in the Detailed 360 Report

The following Premium AI features can be enabled in AI Services Administration page, which can be used in the Detailed 360 Report.

  • Assisted 360 Reviews - Sentiment Analysis

Prerequisites

The following are prerequisites to use AI-Assisted Insights and Sentiment Analysis in the Detailed 360 Report.

  • SAP AI Units license
  • Assisted 360 Reviews Insights feature enabled in AI Services Administration. For sentiment analysis, you must also enable the Assisted 360 Reviews - Sentiment Analysis option below it.
  • Assisted 360 Reviews Insights permission granted in Manage Permission RolesUser PermissionsAI Access.

AI-Assisted Insights into Detailed 360 Report

Leveraging generative AI capabilities, users can gain insights into a Detailed 360 Report, both overall and for individual skills or competencies.

  • Overall understanding of a Detailed 360 Report: Users can access the feature by selecting the Generate Insights button in the new Overall Insights for 360 Report section.

    The insights are organized into sections to help users grasp the most important aspects of the report:

    • Employee Summary: Provides a high-level overview of the employee's performance.
    • Key Points: Reveals both strengths and weaknesses of the employee by extracting commonalities from all the rating data.
    • Suggestions for improvement: Offers actionable recommendations for areas needing improvement.
  • Consolidated analysis of a specific skill or competency: Users can access the feature by choosing the View all comments link below a skill or competency, followed by the Generate Insights button.

    The insights are organized into sections to provide an in-depth analysis of the employee's performance in a specific area, along with tailored growth recommendations:

    • Topics: Reviews how the employee performs in key topics mentioned in comments.
    • Suggestions for improvement: Identifies growth areas and provides achievable suggestions for upskilling and career development.
    • Summary: Summarizes the employee's performance by analyzing received ratings and comments.
  • Sentiment analysis of comments for a specific attribute: Comments are analyzed to determine the rater’s overall attitude toward the employee’s performance in a specific area. Based on the analysis, sentiment tags like Positive, Mixed, Negative, and Unknown are added to the comments.

Note

This feature is part of the Premium AI capabilities in SAP SuccessFactors, which requires the purchase of the SAP AI Units license. Customers will be required to contact their SAP Account Executive to enable these capabilities. More information is available in the SAP Help Portal: Premium AI Features in SAP SuccessFactors.

Generate AI-Assisted Insights into Detailed 360 Report

In this example, you will see how to generate AI-Assisted Insights based on the results from a Detailed 360 Report to receive key points and suggestions for improvement as recommendations for the subject being evaluated.

Steps

  1. In the Graphical Summary view, locate the Overall Insights for 360 Report and select the Generate Insights button to start.

  2. If this is the user's first time working with Generative AI capabilities, an AI Usage Acknowledgment must be accepted before continuing. This acknowledgment will display as a pop up message, that needs to be accepted only once.

  3. The generative AI technology will analyze and process the request.

  5. Overall Insights will be generated and become available for review.

  6. The Overall Insights for 360 Report section is displayed on the Graphical Summary tab.

  7. To generate insights from individual Competency or Skill comments, locate a specific one and select View All Comments. The button Generate Insights will be found and the results will be displayed, once analyzed and processed by Generative AI technology.

  8. Both Overall Insights and Comment Insights will be available in the Print Setup and can be printed for further review.

Sentiment Analysis in 360 Reviews

Using the Sentiment analysis of comments for a specific attribute, comments are analyzed to determine the rater’s overall attitude toward the employee’s performance in a specific area. Based on the analysis, sentiment tags like Positive or Negative are added to reflect the nature of the feedback.

Reviewers can initiate sentiment analysis of individual comments for a specific skill or competency. This generative AI feature evaluates input from Detailed 360 Reports, such as skill or competency name, ratings, comments, and rater category, to determine the overall attitude of raters toward an employee’s skills or competencies, and then the comment is tagged.

Select this option to analyze the sentiment of the participant's comments.

These tags sync back to the raters who provided the comments, allowing them to confirm whether their feedback was assessed correctly. Tags may change as more reviewers initiate sentiment analysis or due to updates to the form.

Each comment is tagged with one of the following key terms:

  • Positive: Indicates the employee is performing well in a specific area.
  • Mixed: Reflects an unclear or neutral stance on the employee's performance.
  • Negative: Highlights areas where the employee could improve.
  • Unknown: This means no feedback or relevant comment is available on the skill or competency.
On the results, comments have positive, mixed and negative sentiments.

Review the Detailed 360 Report

Business Example

In this exercise, you open the form you tested in a previous exercise and review the Detailed 360 Report.

Note

If you have not tested a 360 Review form completely, please do so now as this activity is dependent on a form being in the Completed performance folder. To move a 360 review form into the Completed performance folder, a 360 review form must be launched for multiple raters and pushed through all route map steps (all raters submit ratings) into the Completed route step. The form will then be in the Completed performance folder for the manager of the subject of the form. 

Steps

  1. Review the Detailed 360 Report as a Process Owner.

    1. In this scenario, the Process Owner is the manager's subject, since the manager was the responsible to send the forms to the Evaluation stage.

    2. From the Name menu, select Proxy Now and proxy as the manager of the subject of the form.

    3. From the main navigation menu, navigate to Performance.

    4. Select the Completed folder.

    5. Review the Evaluation Summary with all the participants. They should have all completed their evaluations.

    6. Choose the Open the Detailed 360 Report link.

    7. Review the Graphical Summary, Gap Analysis, Hidden Strength, Blind Spot, and Rank View reports, using the navigation tabs that appear along the top of the screen.

  2. Use the AI capabilities to Generate Insights from the Graphical Summary.

    1. Within the Detailed 360 Report, navigate back to the Graphical Summary.

    2. Choose the Generate Insights button.

    3. Analyze the results of the generative AI output.

  3. When you are finished reviewing the reports, close out of the window.
