Rename and Localize the Label Instructions

Overview of the change

You’re now able to rename as well as localize the label for Instructions for each of the tabs in your Compensation, Variable Pay, and, the Total Compensation templates.

Use the Instructions icon to access the message on the worksheets.

This enhancement allows you to change the label for the Instructions tab based on your needs for each of the tabs in your templates as well as to provide the label in other languages.

You configure this label change directly in the XML for your template. See the sample XML for the code to add. Options for useFor are salary, bonus, stock, summary, varpay, and all. If no value for a locale (lang) exists, then the default (Line 1 in sample code) is displayed. Note that the label displayed is the one in the template at the time of worksheet creation. Any changes to the label code after the launch of the worksheets only affect the Executive Review.

Code snippet

<comp-instruction-tab-name useFor="summary"><![CDATA[Instructions]]></comp-instruction-tab-name>
<comp-instruction-tab-name useFor="summary" lang="de_DE"><![CDATA[Anweisungen]]></comp-instruction-tab-name>
...
<comp-instruction-tab-name useFor="salary"><![CDATA[Instructions-salary-for-default]]></comp-instruction-tab-name>
<comp-instruction-tab-name useFor="salary" lang="de_DE"><![CDATA[Anweisungen]]></comp-instruction-tab-name>
...

You can only make XML changes to existing templates from Provisioning.

Configuration Requirements

You create the instructions for the compensation and total compensation worksheets by going to Admin CenterCompensation Home[Template Name]Plan SetupDesign WorksheetPlan Instruction.

What's Changed

In the current version, you can customize the label for Instructions for each of the tabs on your Compensation, Variable Pay, and Total Compensation templates.

In the previous version, you were able to modify the label for Instructions in Provisioning but this change affected all the tabs on a template for all the templates.
