SAP IAS is a cloud-based authentication and single sign-on service for users in the cloud. For SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite, it allows for seamless login with other cloud solutions from SAP. Furthermore, because of the secure environment, it also allows for more functionalities.

Stories Reports
The Story type of report in Report Center is part of reporting SAP SuccessFactors and is based on the integration of SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite with SAP Analytics Cloud. It is a presentation-style report that uses charts, visualizations, text, images, and pictograms to describe data. After you create a story, you can add and edit pages, sections, and elements. You can share your story with others to enable them to use the report you've created. A story mainly involves building a query and using the query to create the report.
Story Reports is the only reporting tool in the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite that works with SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding. Story Reports function in the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite only if SAP IAS is enabled. SAP IAS requires a license.
Authenticating New Hires using SAP Identity Authentication Service (IAS)
If SAP IAS is integrated and enabled for the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite, it can also be used to authenticate new hires. This replaces the native way that new hires login into SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite to access Onboarding. A new hire receives an email from SAP IAS to set up their access for the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite. Once their access is set up, they can use the single sign-on function the next time they access the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite.
