While many organizations automate the start of onboarding through an integration with SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting or an external Applicant Tracking System (ATS), there are scenarios where a user must manually enter a new hire's information. For example, if your organization hires a high-level executive or a seasonal contractor whose details were not processed through the standard recruiting pipeline, an administrator or recruiter needs the authorization to trigger the process manually.
Before you can manually add a new hire to Onboarding, the permission for the tool needs to be granted through role-based permissions. The ability to manually add a new hire to Onboarding is typically granted to someone from Human Resources, such as the recruiter and, sometimes, the Onboarding administrator.
