Scheduling Sync Jobs

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to schedule required jobs in Provisioning for SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding.

Configure the Job to Archive Onboarding/Offboarding Tasks

You can configure your application to remove completed or irrelevant Onboarding tasks from the dashboard of the assigned Onboarding/Offboarding participants.

Tasks created as a part of the Onboarding/Offboarding process have a specific due date. Once the tasks are addressed and the Onboarding/Offboarding process is complete, there’s no reason for the tasks to remain on the dashboard of the assigned Onboarding/Offboarding participants. The reasoning also applies to incomplete tasks that won't be addressed by the assigned participants due to some reason.

Onboarding facilitates auto archival of Onboarding/Offboarding tasks with the help of:

  • A business rule, which identifies the Onboarding/Offboarding tasks to be archived based on a configured criteria.
  • A batch job from Provisioning, which runs periodically to archive Onboarding/Offboarding tasks based on inputs received from a business rule.

Create the Archival Job

You can create a job to manage the archival of onboarding and offboarding tasks, which can be configured to run periodically or manually. The job uses the conditions specified in the ONB2_ProcessClosurePeriodConfig business rule to determine what to archive. The default archival period is 90 days, but the rule can be adjusted to meet customer requirements.

For more details on managing the business rule, see: Archive Onboarding/Offboarding Tasks.

The steps to configure the Job were covered in the exercise in this lesson. Configure the job with the Job Type: Close Onboarding Process Job and the appropriate schedule.

Summary

  • Schedule the job that converts new hires into employees.
  • Set the conversion job to run daily before the workday starts.
  • Schedule separate jobs for compliance, process closure, and meetings.
