Offboarding (also referred to as the termination process) allows you to set up a seamless exit process for employees leaving the organization. Termination can be voluntary (such as a resignation), involuntary (a layoff or dismissal), or a result of retirement.
In this video, you will learn about the steps in the offboarding process.
Video Summary

The offboarding process is first initiated in Employee Central, then the following steps are carried out:
- In the Manager Data Review step the manager reviews all termination-related information or assigns this responsibility to a designated group, such as HR.
- In the Employee Data Review step, additional data is captured from the departing employee.
- In the Create Offboarding Tasks step, tasks are assigned to relevant participants to complete.
- In the Document Flow step, documents are sent to the offboardee to sign.
The Process Variant Manager tool allows you to customize steps in an Offboarding process. Steps can be removed or rearranged depending on the organization’s requirements.
Once the offboarding process is complete, the information of the offboardee is updated in Employee Central.
