Opportunity Marketplace Overview

Opportunity Marketplace uses sophisticated technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to recommend opportunities tailored for employees’ growth and development.

These opportunities originate from the following Data Sources:

  • SAP Opportunity Marketplace – assignments feature
  • SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting – internal job postings
  • SAP SuccessFactors Learning
  • SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development – Mentoring
  • SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development – Suggested Roles (within Career Worksheets)

Benefits of Opportunity Marketplace

Opportunity Marketplace is an all-in-one hub that can grow your people and empower the organization. Connecting employees’ readiness and interests with achievable opportunities mobilizes talent within your organization and helps you build a workforce that meets your evolving business needs.

  • All-in-one: Opportunity Marketplace gathers valuable and diverse opportunities across SAP SuccessFactors in one central place, where users can view, consider, and act on those opportunities that matter most.
  • Easy to explore: Users can browse opportunities by category, learn more about an opportunity by scanning the key facts, read up on it by quickly navigating to the module page from which the opportunity originates using the View Details link, or go to modules to search through more opportunities by selecting the Explore More link.
  • Manageable opportunities: Users on the go can save items for later consideration by selecting the Bookmark button and revisit the saved opportunities in the bookmark list when they have time for serious consideration.

SAP SuccessFactors Opportunity Marketplace is accessible from iOS and Android SAP SuccessFactors Mobile apps.

Opportunity Marketplace Navigation

From the top of the screen, select the capabilities to display the opportunities matching those capabilities.

Click on the Manage My Opportunities button to manage all the bookmarked, in progress, or completed opportunities.

Experience Broadening with Assignments

In Opportunity Marketplace, users with proper permissions can create, publish, view, apply for, and start assignments.

Assignments are internal work opportunities that last for a specified time, usually shorter than 12 months, and can be full-time or part-time.

Typical assignments include the following:

  • Projects
  • Fellowships
  • Vocational training
  • Internships
  • Others

Skills Development with Learning Management Systems

Users can find the learning items recommended specifically for them in the Learn New Skills section.

In this section, users can discover three different recommendation types for learning content:

  • Admin Recommendations: These items are recommended through Assignment Profiles and identified by the label of Recommended by Learning Team.
  • Peer Recommendations: These items are recommended by peers and identified by the label indicating who recommended them.
  • Personalized Recommendations: These items are recommended based on machine learning algorithms.

Note

  • Personalized Recommendations are currently in early adoption.
  • For the Program items, users need to enroll in the programs by navigating to the respective page in the SAP SuccessFactors Learning module.

Connect with People through Mentoring

Users can find the mentors and mentoring programs recommended specifically for them in the Connect with People section.

They see recommended mentors matching their preferences from one or multiple programs they joined. They only get recommended mentoring programs if they haven't joined any mentoring program. They can get three types of programs: Open Enrollment, Supervised, and Unsupervised programs.

By reviewing the given information on an item, you can decide whether it is the best fit. If you find it is the right program or mentor, you can ask for mentorship directly on the cards by selecting Submit Request or navigate to the page of the program by selecting Join as Mentor or Join as Mentee.

Exploring Career Options with Career Development Planning

Users can find the job roles recommended specifically for them in the Explore Career Options section. They can do the following regarding those career role opportunities:

  • They can learn about details of a role before taking it, including role description, required capabilities, and recommendation reasons
  • If they're interested in a role, they can add it as a target role to Career Worksheet.
  • If they've added a role as a target role, they can check role readiness on the Manage My Opportunities or Role Details page.
  • If they want to assess role readiness and view gap analysis for capabilities, they can go to Career Worksheet directly from the Role Details page.
  • If they no longer consider a role for their career development, they can remove it from target roles.
