Organizing the Customer's Content by Using Effective Career Site Elements

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to organize customer's content by using effective career site elements.

Multiple Ways for Candidates to Find Jobs

Providing multiple ways for candidates to find jobs that they want to apply for is the main goal of any career site.

Career Site Builder Search Experience

Career Site Builder provides multiple search channels that can be used to enhance the overall search experience.

When the Unified Data Model is enabled, customers can choose which fields from the requisition template candidates can filter on to find the jobs they’re interested in, and which fields to display on the third line of the job results card.

Category Listings of Jobs

Looking for jobs by category is very popular with candidates. Leading practice is to include a listing in the header, such as Featured Jobs, Careers or Other.

Different job category listings shown under different labels, such as Opportunities, Career Paths, or Careers.

Customers often include a component that links to job categories that they are trying to fill.

Use of the Google Job Map for the Search Experience

Many customers provide a Google Job Map, so that candidates can quickly drill-in to jobs in their location.

Job Alert Email

If candidates don't find a job, they can sign up for job alert emails. Remember that a leading practice is to provide an easy way for candidates to opt-in for job alert emails, even if they did not find a job to apply to.

Candidates can create job alerts through the following interfaces in Career Site Builder:

  • Category pages
  • Job pages
  • Search results
  • Candidate profile

Additionally, there are two components for providing job alerts to candidates: Subscribe Form or Info and Subscribe Form.

Example of a subscribe form with a header Interested in working for Sabre? and a text field for entering your e-mail address.

Customers call this "Receive Job Alerts" or "Join the Talent Community" or "Create an Account" or something similar. Be sure to add a link in the header as well.

Live Career Site Builder Sites

To understand and demonstrate the use of Career Site Builder pages and components, it is helpful to share examples of live CSB sites with the customer to give them ideas for their own sites.

Examine Live CSB Career Sites

This video reviews examining live Career Site Builder career sites.

Business Example

Now that you know about some leading practices for website design, and you have been introduced to the pages and components that make up SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting career sites, you will examine some live CSB sites.

Determine whether the sites follow general website leading practices and the recommendations for Career Site Builder sites.

Steps

  1. From the SAP Learning Hub, locate the Recruiting Academy Learning Room, and then open the Live CSB Sites page.

  2. Select three or more sites and compare how they were built. Do they follow general website best practices and the recommendations for career sites? Look specifically for the following:

    • Is a sub-domain used for the site URL?

    • What options are available from the header and footer? Visit a sampling of them.

    • Does the logo at the top left return you to the home page?

    • Are social network links included in the footer?

    • Which components are used on the home page? Is the search bar prominently located there?

    • Which fields are displayed on the search results page?

    • Are the content pages hosted by SAP or by the customer? (Look for "About Us" or similar in the header.)

    • Which components are used on the category pages? (Look for "Featured Jobs" or similar).

    • How many content pages and category pages are included?

    • Which countries are included on the job map page?

    • Are the job description pages formatted correctly?

    • Does the site contain any video? A carousel?

    • Are brands represented?

    • Has the site been localized into other languages?

    • How does the site look for the three breakpoints (desktop, tablet, mobile)?

    • Which site would you prefer to navigate through to look for a job?

Summary

  • Configure Career Site Builder (CSB) components using the Details and Styles tabs to customize text, colors, and background.
  • Add links, buttons, or spacing to enhance user experience, including external links, emails, and job alert subscriptions.
  • Enable search channels, filters, and job categories to optimize the candidate job search experience on CSB pages.
  • Provide multiple ways for candidates to find jobs, including job alerts, Google Job Maps, and featured job listings.
