Introduction to SAP SuccessFactors Succession

This section provides a general overview of the SAP SuccessFactors Succession module. Succession Management aims to ensure a steady supply of high-performing talent in critical positions.

Historically, Succession planning focused on certain positions like top executives. However, the increasing importance of talent management is leading organizations to implement Succession for roles across the company. Succession Management is no longer limited to the boardroom or a select group of employees.

Benefits of Succession Management

A robust Succession Management program enables organizations to retain their top talent, identify talent gaps, and create succession plans by nominating employees to positions that align with the growth trajectories of those employees.

As turnover or natural attrition occurs, employees or external candidates are chosen in the Add Successor feature to quickly fill key positions and minimize disruption due to staffing issues.
