Understanding Integrations and Interplay Across the Toolchain

Integrations Where a Meta Model Exists

Not all tools in the agent-led toolchain are formally integrated. Some have out-of-the-box technical integrations with bidirectional data flows. Others work together through a defined handoff - outputs from one tool become inputs for another. Understanding both patterns is essential for positioning the toolchain as a coherent system rather than a collection of separate products.

The SAP Business Transformation Management core - SAP LeanIX, SAP Signavio, and SAP Cloud ALM - is built on a harmonized meta model and features out-of-the-box technical integrations:

  • SAP LeanIX and SAP Signavio - Bidirectional integration connects application architecture (LeanIX fact sheets) with business process architecture (Signavio BPMN diagrams). Applications and processes are linked, giving teams a combined view of what runs where and how.
  • SAP LeanIX and SAP Cloud ALM - High-level transformation roadmaps and initiatives defined in SAP LeanIX are synchronized into SAP Cloud ALM as project milestones and deliverables.
  • SAP Signavio and SAP Cloud ALM - Process designs finalized in SAP Signavio are handed over to SAP Cloud ALM as scoped implementation items. This ensures that what was designed gets built - with full traceability.

These integrations form a continuous loop: architecture informs process design, process design informs implementation, and implementation progress feeds back into the architecture and roadmap.

Below are the additional integrations:

  • Tricentis and SAP Cloud ALM - Tricentis test automation execution is integrated with SAP Cloud ALM test management. Test plans managed in SAP Cloud ALM trigger automated test execution in Tricentis, with results flowing back into SAP Cloud ALM for quality gate decisions.
  • WalkMe and SAP Signavio - WalkMe integrates with SAP Signavio to deliver process-led digital adoption. Process flows modeled in SAP Signavio can be used to drive in-app guidance in WalkMe - ensuring users follow the newly designed processes within the application.

The Harmonized Meta Model

The harmonized meta model defines which tool is the source of truth for each type of information:

  • Application architecture - SAP LeanIX is the leading system. Applications, business capabilities, and IT landscape data are created and maintained here.
  • Business process data - SAP Signavio is the master. All process models, dictionary objects, and process attributes originate in SAP Signavio.
  • Implementation and project artifacts - SAP Cloud ALM leads. Projects, scopes, test plans, requirements, and deployment activities are owned here.

Some entities are synchronized across tools, others are only linked by reference. This system-of-record approach prevents inconsistencies and ensures a single source of truth for each data type.
