Persona

Working Capital Insights is an integrated solution based on SAP Datasphere Analytical Models, SAP Analytics Cloud capabilities. This Intelligent Application is powered by the SAP Business Data Cloud data products that visualize working capital KPIs based on data from different SAP S/4HANA financial areas related to the Finance Foundation for SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud. You can use it to discover new insights, trends, and predictions through powerful analytics based on cross-data models. It offers quick time to value, and low total cost of ownership through pre-delivered integration and KPI rich content available out-of-the-box.

An Intelligent Application called Working Capital Insights has been installed successfully by the Business Administrator. How can the insights be consumed as-is? This lesson highlights the power of Intelligent Applications, which are pre-built SaaS applications designed to deliver critical business signals and actionable recommendations, built on SAP’s unified data model.

We will explore how a business user can start consuming the Intelligent Application to draw meaningful insights from the underlying data products´ data. Specifically, we will cover Working Capital Insights which is a use case for ERP Analytics.

Note

Your story pages might be different depending on the WCI Intelligent Application version.

Prerequisites

  • You have completed the configuration of the SAP Business Data Cloud cockpit, and completed the installation of the Working Capital Insights Intelligent Application.

  • You are logged on to SAP Business Data Cloud.

Data Products

Installing the Intelligent Application also installs all the underlying data products. In the SAP Business Data Cloud Catalog, you can find all the data products that are available.

  1. Select Search from the left navigation bar.

  2. In the Catalog screen, under the Data Products tab you can find all the data products that can now be installed in the consumption spaces in SAP Datasphere.

  3. By filtering for HE4_400_BDC_BasicTrial_2 and Active, you are shown the list of data products that are available to explore and extend in a familiar SAP environment.

View the Working Capital Insights Intelligent Application

Users can launch Intelligent Applications from a dedicated file repository in SAP Analytics Cloud, or users can open Intelligent Applications as SAP Analytics Cloud stories in viewer mode from within SAP Business Data Cloud cockpit.

Since you are already logged on to SAP Business Data Cloud cockpit, open the Working Capital Insights Intelligent Application from there.

  1. Select Intelligent Applications and Data Packages from the left navigation bar.

Under the installed tab, you can view all the installed Intelligent Applications and data packages.

  1. Select the Installed tab, then the Working Capital Insights Intelligent Application.

  1. Select Open App, then choose SAP_AI_WorkingCapital.

    You are directed to the SAP Analytics Cloud stories that form the vibrant consumption layer of this Intelligent Application.

The Working Capital Insight contains the following pages:

  • Overview
  • Liquidity & Cash
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Inventory

The range of stories show insights using a variety of KPIs and metrics.

  1. View the Overview story page.

    The Overview story analyzes various metrics, including the following:

    • NWC: Net Working Capital
    • NWC/TNS: Net Working Capital / Total Net Sales
    • NWC/TNS Moving Average: Net Working Capital / Total Net Sales 12 months moving average

  1. Select the Liquidity & Cash story page.

    The Cash Flow section showcases information on:

    • Actual Cash Flow per Calendar Week (default for three months data).
    • Bank Balance per Time for Forecast and ΔYesterday (Forecast Cash Flow): Forecast Bank Balance in the near future.

    You will enhance the Cash Flow models and corresponding content in the upcoming units.

  1. Select the Accounts Receivable story page.

  1. Select the Accounts Payable story page.

  1. Select the Inventory story page.

Congratulations! You have successfully explored the Working Capital Insights Intelligent Application and it’s underlying data products.
