Install Data Product

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to as a Data Analyst, import the data product from SAP Databricks into SAP Datasphere.

Persona

In this lesson we will install a data product in SAP Datasphere shared from SAP Databricks. In the previous SAP Databricks unit you published your own data product from SAP Databricks.

Prerequisites

  • You are logged on to SAP Datasphere
  • Even if you haven’t completed SAP Databricks enrich data product unit, you can continue with a pre-defined, previously published data product.

Install Data Product

Search for the Data Product to install.

  1. Select Catalog & Marketplace from the side navigation area, then Search.

  2. Show filters using the filter icon. Then filter for Data Products and also SAP Databricks (for System Type).

  3. Select Display as List in the upper right corner.

    It is easier to find your data product with list display.

  4. Enter Company Code Clustering Data Product in the search bar and select Search (or press Enter).

    Alternatively, you can enter your own previously published data product Company Code Clustering Data Product from and use this in the next steps, if it is available in the catalog.

  1. Select Company Code Clustering Data Product to view details.

    • Check the ORD ID sap.databricks:dataProduct:company_code_clustering_share:v1 for correctness.

  2. Navigate to the Details section, and under Actions (…), select Install.

  3. Select the space and continue with Next Step.

  4. Change Data Access method to Remote Tables, and select the company_code_cluster data product, then select Start Import and Deploy.

    Note

    If you see a warning the objects are currently installed as local tables and changing federation might degrade performance, please ignore the message and select Continue.

  5. Under Data Builder select your space .

  6. The data product is now available in your space.

    Notice that the data product is in a SAP-Managed space and shared with you. The reason for this is to prevent artifact duplication. Even if the data product is installed many times by multiple users, data will be shared from SAP Databricks to SAP Datasphere only once. Also notice that it’s a remote table.

    Note

    Installation and deployment might take up to a minute. If you don’t see the data product, then wait and refresh the page.
