Available Plans

SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition offers two types of standard plans and it is important to understand the difference between them, and to understand which scenario is relevant for each one. For the setup with SAP Mobile Start, access to the SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition application is required. Either the free (Application) or standard (Application) plan are applicable.

Access SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition

To access the SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition application, the Site Manager, you first need to assign the Launchpad_Admin role collection to your user.

For this initial setup and test, your platform user on the default identity provider (SAP ID service) is used as an example. Platform users are used by administrators to log into the SAP BTP Cockpit and perform administrative activities.

For business users, you need to set up a custom identity service. It is recommended to use the SAP Cloud Identity Services – Identity Authentication as the single identity provider (IdP) for SAP BTP. It offers the capability to connect various corporate identity providers to it and act as a hub. The manual setup of connection between Identity Authentication and the SAP BTP subaccount is part of the next unit.

Within the Site Manager, there are three main pages available:

Page	Description
Site Directory	Here you can create and maintain different sites and their settings.
Content Manager	This is where the content is maintained; for example, you can see federated content from the SAP S/4HANA system or you can manually create apps (tiles), roles, Groups and catalogs.
Channel Manager	Content Channels are used to import content from different source systems; for example, SAP S/4HANA. In this tab, you can create and maintain the Content Channels.

Import Content to SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition

As a final step, to make use of SAP S/4HANA content within SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition, the exposed content must be imported within the Site Manager. To achieve this, create a Content Channel that fetches the exposed content via the Design-Time destination. Once this is done, you will be able to see and manage the federated business roles in the Content Manager tab.

Next, add a site to the Site Directory and assign the federated business roles to it. The imported roles will be available as Role Collections on the subaccount and must be assigned to the end users for them to see the application within the site.

In this practice exercise, you perform the following tasks:

Create content channel
Manage content
Create site and assign roles
Assign role collections to users
Test the site

Note

If you are using an SAP S/4HANA system in a hub deployment with separate back-end systems and aliases, you need to map them after creating the content provider. You can find more information in the help documentation.

Summary

You can now access SAP S/4HANA business content via the created launchpad site on SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition using a browser on the desktop. Test a few apps to ensure that the connection is working properly.

For now, all the data is accessed via the specified user in the Runtime Destination. In a productive environment, the site in SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition would be accessed by many users with different authorizations. Hence, this needs to be changed later after you have set up principal propagation. The next lesson will explain the setup of principal propagation, which is required to flow user authorizations between the SAP BTP and SAP S/4HANA system.
