Verify Build Success

Usage Scenario

After configuring a job and a pipeline for Continuous Integration and Delivery, you want to ensure that the automated build and deployment of your project succeeds.

Exercise Options

You can perform this exercise in two ways:

  1. Live Environment – using the instructions provided below, you can perform the tasks in the SAP BTP Free Tier account
  2. Platform Simulation – follow the step-by-step instructions within the simulation

Live Environment

In this exercise, you will trigger a job and monitor it in SAP Continuous Integration and Delivery.

Prerequisite

Please ensure that you have set up an SAP Continuous Integration and Delivery pipeline.

Steps

  1. Trigger the build manually in the CI/CD Cockpit.

  2. Monitor the Outcome.

    After completing these steps, you will have monitored the outcome of your job in SAP Continuous Integration and Delivery.

    1. In the Jobs tab in SAP Continuous Integration and Delivery, select your job and verify that a new tile appears in the Builds view. This tile should be marked as running.

    2. Wait until the job has finished and verify that the build tile is marked as successful.

      Note
      This can take several minutes to complete. If your build fails, click on the respective tile to see the logs and send us the information in our Learning Community for troubleshooting.

    Platform Simulation

    Click on the Start button below to open a simulation of the platform. Then follow the step-by-step instructions to verify the build success.
