To learn about Competencies and Roles, watch this video:
Competencies are the basic abilities employees must have in order to perform their role within the organization successfully. They are observable, measurable, and critical to successful individual and company performance. There are three broad categories of competencies.
Competency Categories
Competency Category | Description |
---|---|
Core Competencies | Competencies that are core to the organization. These are not commonly used in Career Development Planning. |
Job-Specific Competencies | Competencies that are specific to the role or job of the employee. Competencies can be mapped to the role and job code of the employee and dynamically display on an individual’s Role Readiness form. |
Custom Competencies | Competencies that are specific to a particular Performance Form template. During review cycles, this allows different departments to add their own specific competencies. |
