Connecting SAP BTP and On-Premise Systems using the Cloud Connector

Welcome to the learning journey about the cloud connector. My name is Frank Hebmann. In 1996, I started working in the SAP Education Department as an instructor for SAP System Administration. Does your company operate SAP applications in hybrid mode? In this case, some applications run on-premise in your data center and other applications run on the SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP BTP in short. To connect your SAP BTP applications with these on-premise applications, you could open your firewall to allow direct communication with the cloud. Or you could place the on-premise systems in your DMZ. However, both approaches create security risks by exposing your systems. The best way to build a secure connection between cloud and on-premise applications is to use the software SAP specifically developed for this purpose, the Cloud Connector.
