Free Offerings

Usage Scenario

You want to get familiar with SAP BTP and you even want to try out different services. For familiarizing yourself with the different offerings of SAP BTP, you might want to start with a free version first, instead of the commercial one. For this, you can make use of the SAP BTP trial and free tier offer.

SAP BTP Trial Account

Free for all users with a rich set of services and functionality. Cut into user time and functionality.

Free Tier Model for SAP BTP

The free tier model for SAP BTP automatically provides free services to all existing Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) and Cloud Platform Enterprise Agreement (CPEA) customers. It is available globally (except mainland China) and the free services can be accessed through a customer’s SAP BTP Cockpit. All other new and existing customers can simply sign up for PAYG through the SAP Store to get started.

How Does the Free Tier Model for SAP BTP Differ from the SAP BTP Trial?

SAP BTP trial allows you to build full applications in a test environment to learn and explore the capabilities of SAP BTP. Once you are ready to move to the next phase and deploy to production, you will need to get a new productive account and start over.

With the free tier model for SAP BTP, you start with a productive account right away. The free tier means you can try out selected services up to a specified capacity limit and switch easily to the paid tier, without losing any work.

Summary

SAP offers two free options to try out SAP BTP and the services listed on it. One is the well-known trial account, the other is the new free tier offering.
