Every purchase order (PO) by an eCarHero employee is created within an S/4HANA Cloud ERP system. Instead of working with an actual instance of such a system, this course will alternatively teach you how to leverage the SAP API Business Hub for this purpose.
In this exercise, you will perform the following steps:
Identify the appropriate API.
The SAP API Business Hub lets you explore, discover, and consume appropriate APIs as well as pre-packaged integrations, business services, and sample apps within a central catalogue. An OData service to return purchase orders in an SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP system is available.
Open your browser and enter https://api.sap.com/.
Choose S/4HANA Cloud.
In the top content bar, choose APIs → OData V2 and search for purchase order.
Select the OData service Purchase Order. Review the content.
Test the OData service "Purchase Order".
In the top content bar, choose Try Out.
On the left side navigational bar, select Purchase Order → GET. You can optionally adjust parameters, for example, limit the number of results to be returned, then select Run.
View the returned purchase orders and take note of the API key. You will use this to enhance your iFlow in the following lessons.
