Task 1: Create an SAP Business Technology Platform Trial Account
Steps
Create an account in SAP Business Technology Platform trial.
If you already have a running SAP BTP trial account, you can skip this step and proceed with the task: Create a Slack Account.
Follow our tutorial to get a free account on SAP BTP Trial.
Task 2: Subscribe to the SAP Integration Suite
Steps
Subscribe to the SAP Integration Suite.
The SAP BTP trial offering contains many of the most important services and tools for development on the platform. You will now subscribe to the SAP Integration Suite.
If not already there, log into your SAP BTP trial with the URL you have received through a corresponding email notification, or navigate https://account.hanatrial.ondemand.com/trial.
From the landing page of your global account, navigate to Account Explorer → your subaccount → Services → Marketplace.
You will see the following screen:
Search for Integration Suite and subscribe to the application by choosing the tile and Create.
Navigate to Instances and Subscriptions to verify successful completion.
Task 3: Enable Access to the Four Core Capabilities
Steps
Enable access to the four core capabilities.
Log back into the SAP BTP trial as before and navigate to Access Explorer → Service → Subscriptions.
Choose Integration Suite to access the application.
Choose Add Capabilities and select all available options. The activation of the individual capabilities might take up to 60 minutes.
This is the result. Enter the data and choose Next.
Enter the data and choose Next.
Enter the data and choose Next.
The result is as follows:
You should now be able to access your personal trial and the SAP Integration Suite without problems. You will not be able to complete the practical modules of this course otherwise.
If you do have problems, go back to the detailed instructions and make sure you have followed the steps exactly as described. If any problems persist, please contact SAP directly via the trial registration page.
Task 4: Add Necessary Role Collections to Your User
Steps
Assign necessary user permissions.
To access the SAP Integration Suite, you will have to assign yourself the required user permissions. Please note that in a productive setting, this responsibility will lie with an administrator (not the end user).
Choose Security → Users. If this is your first time working with the trial, you will only see yourself listed as user. With additional granted access, other users will be displayed here as well.
Choose Default Identity Provider and assign yourself all of the available permissions. Note that, for security reasons, this would not be done in a productive setting. Assigning all available permissions is only done for simplicity in this trial and testing scenario, to forgo any potential future access problems when exploring on your own.
The result is as follows:
Verify that the new permissions have been assigned to you.
Delete your cache and close your browser to forgo any potential future access problems.
