Standard Process - Option 1
The Standard Process - Option 1 is a process in which the maintenance technician does not use SAP. This means that all planning, confirmation and completion steps in the SAP system have to be carried out by the maintenance planner and/or the maintenance supervisor.
Standard Process - Option 2
The Standard Process - Option 2 is a process in which the planning steps are done in the backend system by the maintenance planner and the execution steps are done by the maintenance technician in the web frontend (Job List, Confirmation List – Role Maintenance Worker).
Notification and Order
The instruments available for processing maintenance tasks are as follows:
A maintenance order can also be created directly, without a malfunction notification. The findings for the malfunction description can be entered later, when the order is concluded, by a subsequent report.
The disadvantages of doing this are as follows:
- Data regarding the origin of the malfunction can be lost.
- Orders without notifications cannot be integrated in a major task controlled by the Maintenance Event Builder (MEB).
Integration of Notification and Order
You can combine several notifications in a maintenance order. Notifications are then stored in the object list of the order and can be linked to operations in the operation list.
In the settings of an order type, you can define how the object lists entries of an order and influence the operation list of an order.
For example, the creation of a maintenance order combining various notifications, which are each linked to a different task list.
