Because the results of rate component calculations are often the basis of other calculations, individual components cannot be directly associated to rates. Instead, relevant components must first be grouped into Rate Component Groups and the appropriate relationship of the rate components be established before the rates can be calculated.
Rate Component Groups allows multiple rate components to be applied to a particular position. So organizations can then apply all of the rate variances to a position without having to enter each one separately.
If Rate Components are used, the Rate Component Group is associated to a position and appears on a job seeker's record.
